70-210 Basic questions
Im planning to take 70-210 within 2weeks or less (I need to start studying first!). This is what I studing with (I think it's plenty of materials)
Transcender 70-210
Troytech 70-210 (6th edition)
Sybex Win2K 2nd edition (book)
Exam Essentials 6.0
Boson Microsoft 4.02
Easy Cert Win2k
Self Test Software 70-210
I think I'll do okay
I have a question. Is the passing score 540 out of 1000 scale and 50 questions on the test?? Is this correct??
So you have to get 27 out of 50 and get 54%, solid F for minimum passing?? *chukle*
And other question, does anybody know if the Win2K test is gona be revised any time soon or retired for XP??

you have too much material Make sure to get plenty of hands-on in your study lab to complement all this stuff.
No, the 210 test will not be retired, neither will the 2000 track. They will coexist. Remember, W2K is NT 5.0 and XP is NT 5.1, not NT 6.0. THey are not that different... or at least not different enough to justify canceling a certification track.

That's way to much material, read a book, find a good practice sim (maybe two) and concentrate on those. Hands-on is a + also.

Yep, way too much stuff, get some hands-on gear if you can.
The MS CAT exams mean that the exam changes as you answer questions depending how you are doing...
If you get a question wrong, the next question will be easier, get that wrong and easier again.
When you get a question correct, the following one will be harder and so on. The exam 'rates' you as you go along and keeps a type of average. Answer too many wrong and your average will be too low and you will get a fail. You may not get to answer all the questions! Same in reverse. Answer every question right, and you won't go through the entire exam either....It will retire you early with a pass.
The less you know, or the more you know, the less questions .... if you are average then you will answer more questions before your score is determined.

When did MS exams go adaptive?

Go to this link and scroll to the bottom of the page - it discusses Adaptive testing.
http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/...innovations.asp
Microsoft reserves the right to present you with an adaptive version of the exam. There is no way of knowing which format you are going to get until you get to the test center and begin the test. However, freak posted in an earlier thread that the 210 exam has never been issued in an adaptive format at his center (to date).

Pavlov ..............
I was aware of this, it just sounded as Johnny5Alive stated the test had gone adaptive or is it my interpretation?

I think Johnny5 was explaining, in general, how adaptive exams work. Microsoft is always telling us that their exams are being changed. This one's adaptive, that one's not - it's all part of keeping the exam takers on their toes

Yep, only explaining what an adaptive exam is, in reply to the original post. (Kaphine was questioning 50 questions per test, and this may not necessarily be the case). I believe some testing centres are using CATS here in London, although I am not 100%. I will tell you for sure when I do a couple of exams this Easter.
