I did it!!!!!!!!
I went and took the Server + exam today. I passed with a 79%. I thought before reading the forums that I was up to par enough that I would get a 90% or better. After reading your responses on this test I was kinda left in WONDERING LAND!! After reading your posts and how hard it was I said to myself....this bugger must be hard. I was scoring high 90's on all my practice tests. I said to myself, "I am ready to ace the test". I used the cert21 practice test, read the Server + Bible (along with doing the practice test in the book over and over), and studied the Cram Session study guide. Yup... after reading your posts I said to myself,"how can the test be that much different then the material in the book and all the practice exams. Well let me tell yall....yall were right!!!!! The test was totally different then what I had studied. Now I know yall weren't bluffing. I probably had about 10 to 15 questions that were right out of the study tests or material in the book (not word for word but close. Although I knew my material and what they were asking for.....the majority of choosing the answers to the questions were hard to choose.
I had to revert to analytically thinking about what would be the best answer. Many times during the test I told myself...I think I am going to fail it. Yall hit it right on the nose by saying this is a challenging test. All I have to say to those that are studying to take it. Don't be intimidated by what these forums say about the test. Go in there confident and read the questions and answers over and over and pick the answers that sound the most logical. It seems like a high percentage of my test was troubleshooting. I didn't have any questions as easy as....What is the level of raid when you stripe data across 2 or more disks. They asked questions that pertained to easy answers like that but made the questions harder to understand what they were talking about by using off the wall words and sentences. Good luck to yall.....remember be confident!!!!
