Question

Does one have to get certified through Sun Microsystems to be considered as truly certified or can I get certified through some other organisation. And if there are any other organisations out there who are they????

As far as I know, Sun is the only place to get Sun certified. There are numerous places which offer the training, but at the end of it, one still has to go through Sun for the certification test(s).

Talking Nope

That,s not true. I have made the test in a prometric testing center. You don,t need to go to Sun.

rulo, I think your interpretation of the question was off a bit.

Indeed, Prometric is the _only_ place you can take Sun exams. They provide the services of a testing facility for Sun, as well as to many, many other companies, agencies, etc. It is indeed a Sun exam. When you right your Sun certification (and pass) you get your certification(s) from Sun, not Prometric.

Anyway, read here for further info:

Grasshopper
