Connecting T1 Line To Ehternet Port

I'm sure this will be easy for a lot of you, but I need to know the answer to the following: If I want to connect T1 line to a lan, lets say through an ethernert port, do I need an adapter? My understanding is that T1 's use rj48. If this is true , I need an adapter to go into etherport.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You do not need an adapter to connect a T1 line to a router interface, I believe the serial interfaces are capable of connecting at a rate of 1.544mbps. Therefore, if you're planning on connecting a T1 line to your lan you can by using the serial interface on your router.

Ya you need a CSU/DSU but you can get a WIC-T1 with built in csu/dsu for the modular routers like 26xx and 36xx or you can get an external if you want. A serial port can handle up to a E1.
