Why?
CCNA is the entry level exam for Cisco - take a look on www.cisco.com for the exam objectives look in the CCNA forum and find out what books are being used and recommended, get a practice test ie from www.boson.com and you should have no problem.
As with the exam the only difference is you have to answer the questions in turn - there is no marking and going back.
Good luck in your new job.

Not the Boson.
Buy anything by the boson's. Hey frank, i;ve tested that software this time. Its only for kids. You know, the a b c d of an exam. However, you should know all alphabets for passing an exam. The Cisco press book is the best for preparing yourself. However, you will also need a good test guide for stuyding. Transcenders are usually a good choice. But see if it fits ur pocket. Anyways, i've got the transcender test if you do want to exchange with anything else.
Luv n Luck
Jack

hmmmmm
Ccna is the first step in a nice cisco agenda, the cisco exams are more challenging than ms exams and have their true recognition. Use the lammle book for the ccna and then never use that word lammle again. For upper level exams use all Cisco Press books.

Exam is not difficult
The ccna exam is not difficult but requires you to have a good knowledge of the cisco material.
Sybex covers subnetting better as well as isdn and frame relay. It would be of beniftit to you to get your hands on to the E_lab version 2, this will help with CLI stuff.
The worse part of the exam is that you have to retain 85% of the stuff you learn.
Braindumps for this exam are not to go, more confusing.
My opinion is that I don't like braindumps. I like to know I did it not someone else!
About 2 weeks before you sit the exam go through Sybex Examnotes for the ccna. This will give you a good indication of any holes in your knowledge. Then concentrate in patching them up and you'll be fine
All the best and your heading in the right direction.

I don't compare them, because each had their own advantage.
Look for the certification that help your job

You really need to understand the subject completely!
I took the CCNA and failed it by one question too many. I was really nervious because I got lost trying to find the place and was a little late. If I had been on time and not gotten so shock-up, I probably would have passed. But to answer your question, I used Sybex CCNA e-trainer, Sybex Virtual Lab, Cisco CCNA Training Kit,Wan Pros Practice test,Buyexams.com practice test, and took a cisco class at a community college. Everything that I studied and all the free practice test downloads did not prepare me for the way that they ask the questions. The only way I believe a person can pass is to really know the subject in total. They pull trick questions, like asking you if a ip address in an example looks right to you, and everything does look alright except, the ip address they use is a reserved ip address so that make it wrong. All I can say is you should study and really know the subject well before going to take the test.
