I will be taking test at the end of the month...
Goodday everyone,
I will be taking the test at the end of the month and I need you thoughts and prayers. I am nervous about the test. I am not so good at taking tests. Can anybody who recently took the exam explain exactly what its like sitting down for the exam? Also what are some of the key points that are on the exam and what study materials did you use? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

My weakest area was the Switching category, and I know 2 others personally who tested and that was their problem as well. Know all about frame tagging. And the details of how a Catalyst 1900 differs from a 2500-series router (i.e. menu & commands).
There were a couple drag & drop style questions. Matching an OSI layer to its description, mainly. You should try to copy down every description of the layers that you hear I got caught on a question (I forget if I eventually got it right or not) where this description sounded funny, but it was a correct one for the Transport layer. I just didn't have confidence in it though. You can avoid this, easily.
I would use either the Cisco Press CCNA guide by Wendell Odom (a CCIE), or the Sybex one by Todd Lamelle (everyone likes it). Really, if you read through the Cisco book and know it all, you should pass. It covers more than you need to know.
For practice test software, if you have the Cisco book, the companion tester is cool. People also recommend Boson from http://www.boson.com/ but I didn't use it.
I passed with a 935 on Jan. 4th

This exam is not all that bad, but it does require your understanding of , CLIs,Subnetting,Access-lists,Isdn,Osi = huge,DOD. Study the lammle book and get the boson.com 's ccna practice exams.

The better equipped you are before you go into battle. The more likely it is that you'll be victorious.
Know thine enemy and you've won half the battle. Prepare well and you'll win the war.

Read Lammele's book until you understand all the underlying principles and concepts in it. especially IP addressing , ISO layers, STP, Trunking and the likes. ( go through the Cisco objectives for the exam and tick them off one by one).
Get a test simulator like Boson and take test until you score highly. we were all scared when we started CCNA. I personally knew nothing about I.T.
It's a learning curve.

All the best
If you can get hold of a copy of Sybex ccna examnotes, it will help
All the best
ShOtgun mentioned bridging and switching. A lot of ppl I know have scored low in this. Remember how bridge handle or don't, multicast and broedcast.
