xp and w2k exams
How much different are the two exams. I passed the w2k exam and am interested in taking the xp because i would assume that they are very similar with the exception of the new features in xp, like remote desktop and assistant, etc.

Difference
I don't think there is that much difference from what you have stated but I have been recieving question of the day from the following site www.2000exams.com/ which has given me an insight into the subject.

One is over Win2k and the other is over XP. J/K I dont think they'll be much of a difference, probably just over the new features that XP has.

I believe the only thing behind XP is to compete againt the looks of Macintosh. I still hail windows 2000 as the best in my opinion. And I also don't believe that MS will force an XP examination over the 2000

Win XP exam is just an alternate to Win2K Pro exam. I would stick with Win2K Pro. It's known and passable.

WinXp Difficult
I know that WinXP is bassed in the Kernel of Windows 2000, and that Windows XP is extremely similar to 2000 in File systems, features, security, etc but Windows XP have a little more features, like remote support, support for more updated hardware, DVD and CDRW writing modules, etc etc etc... this don`t have problems for us, BUT Windows XP exams are FULL ADAPTIVE, if you fail 5 complex questions in the exam, you FAIL the entire exam!!! Its possible that someone don`t hold 10 minutes in this exam!!!!
Best regards
Alex

Re: about cerification xp X 2k
Windows XP & Windows 2000 Certs have the same value, but in few months / years (i don´t know exactly) Microsoft must retire win2k cert and you must make your renovation to xp home/ xppro / xpserver (net line)...
if you don´t have xp exams yet in your town, only wait some days / months because the changes are introduced gradually......
good luck
