You having a laugh or what? I mean, what's with the donkey (XXX!)? Not your latest pull is it? Leave those Northern night clubs alone, man.

hi Guys,
The donkey isn't signifiacnt, O'Reilly seem to use a different animal on each of their book covers...
Their books are said to be good though I haven't read any all the way through. I found the first couple of chapters of a few of their books, and I think this was one of them, placed on the net as a form of advert.
I can't remember where it was now, on a networking site probably but there are so many of those. Try doing a search on google.com for 'Cisco networking books' maybe?
Regards
Peter

What I'm looking for is a concsie book that one (in theory that is) could fit in ones pocket for quick reference. Kinda hoped that this may be the one. I have used/got some of there MS & Unix books and there rather good..not seen this one before though.
Plus I hate the idea of trailing in to Medow Hall or Sheffield just to look for 1 book...yuck...so many ppl to avoid...BTW Yeti's don't like crowds
Pete how are things going over in sunny Scunny(if my memory serves me correctly that's where you are...although I could be wrong )

Book
Just looked on www.amazon.co.uk for reviews on this - unfortunately there wasn't any, it seemed to be the only book (out of 15 shown) which covered all the subject matter!!

hi Yeti,
yes, Scunny is sunny today!
I know what you mean about shopping in Meadowhall, I've only been once and it was like being in a football crowd!
As for books, I prefer to do my shopping on the internet now. It annoys me that American books, ie Cisco, might be US$48 but are UK48 Sterling which assumes a 1:1 exchange rate. It's a plain rip-off as the usual rate is around 1.5 dollars to the pound.
Searching on the net, someone pointed us at www.addall.com a few months ago, finds the same books at a discount price and that means making a saving even after adding on the shipping costs.
Last book I got was the CCDA, ordered just before Christmas, shipping price confirmed by email just after New Year, reckoned to be up to 30 days delivery and it was here in the middle of last week!
Total cost was US$34, don't know the exchange rate but it's around UK20 Sterling or just over and that's about half the recommended UK price!
Plus, there are any number of cut-price book-shops around the UK, you take pot luck with what's in stock, but I can't see how or why anyone should pay the full-price for any book now!
Regards
Peter
