NEW - Question of the Day!
Welcome, quizfans!
OK the forum is pretty dead today so I decided to "kick it up a notch." Here's a couple i-Net+ questions for everyone to chew on. You are not allowed to reference material for these questions, once you read them, reply with your answer immediately from your knowledge. OK? Begin.

Ouch, this sure proved popular
Nevertheless, 'everyone' did a nice job... Nothing wrong with guessing
Here are the anxiously-awaited answers:

Question 1
B) LDAP - Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is used by a client to access a directory server, just like it is implemented in Microsoft's Active Directory. It is discussed in RFCs 1777, 1778, 1823, and 2253. It uses port 389.
A) IPX is not used by Active Directory.
C) ADP is an invented term (to my knowledge).
D) DHCP is used for dynamic configuration of IP hosts, and Active Directory does not rely upon it.
X.500 was the basis for LDAP, although the Lightweight indicates that LDAP has fewer features and uses less resources. Also, only LDAP supports TCP/IP.
Question 2
C) 43 Mbps is the speed of a DS3 line. DS3 is the same as a T3 line. A DS3 consists of 28 T1s, or 672 individual channels.
Some sites list the actual speed of a T3/DS3 as 45.736 Mbps... in the absense of 45 as an answer, 43 is the best answer.
A) 1.544 Mbps is the speed of a T1/DS1 line.
B) 2.048 Mbps is the speed of an E1 line.
D) 100 Mbps is not a valid line speed for any DS/T/E series carrier.
24 channels are in a full T1 or DS1. Each channel is 64 Kbps. I asked for the channel count of a DS1 instead of a DS3 to see if I would trip anyone up.
