MCSA
If I am correct in saying that 218 is based on the four core exams, why doesn't MS automatically give it to those people who have passed them.
Passing these exams must show them we can administer the system.
Just another point!!

I was going to get that certification but
after further thought I decided not to.
I asked my self what will it get me?
I have an MCSE "2 of them actually"
will an MCSA get me a job that my MCSE won`t. nope
Will it teach me anything I haven`t learned already? nope
Will it take time away from my CCDA/DP/IE study? yes
I don`t want a cert for its own sake.

Agree with Chodan - If you already have an MCSE then there is no value in the MCSA for you. MCSE is better known. I was going to finish out my CompTIA exams (which for me is just simply A+, Net+, & i-Net+) then start working on my MCSE, but then after MS announced MCSA I figured, I might as well get that since that will put me just 3 tests away from MCSA.
For me I think the MCSA better suits what I actually do. One day I will work towards the MCSE.

Hi
I am quite sure that MCSE is lower to MCSE.
But, why does much noise come from the internet?
M$ funded?
IF you look at the exams to pass etc, MCSE needs more knowledge and exams to achive.

I'll most likely go for it just to have it--I don't see how it could hurt not to...

I just passed the server exam and the pro test last month and have my net+ and a+ so the 218 is all i need. How do you go about letting microsoft know that you have the net+ and A+ to take the place of the elective? Well I am going to take a break from microsoft and work on INet+ until there is more information around for the 218. Is there even a book published yet? The MCSA is good for those of us that are not sure what we want to do and are just getting a well rounded certification base and then see what is out there that my employeer will need for me to have to advance within the company. Just my 2cents
