You won't even wade in it
My CCNA instructor said the test didn't cover AppleTalk at all. (He's CCNP/CCDP.) I believe that. He elaborated on it saying that suddenly when you get to - what?, the NP Routing or Support test, then you have to know AppleTalk. Sounded funny.
I have taken the test, and I didn't see a single question on it.
You may need to know that ASP is at the Session layer?? But I doubt even that.

You need to know a few incidental things about Appletalk, but it is not covered officially. Incidetal thing like Appletalk access-list number 600 -699 - even then these questions are rare. I did not get any Appletalk question.

AppleTalk has even been removed from the CCIE Lab, so you will see little to no mention of it throughout any of the Cisco exams.
