The Exam
Hello Everyone.
I passed the exam today with a pretty good score of 955. The passing grade was 849.
Anyway, I didn't find the test very difficult. I have been fortunate and have had a lot of experience with Cisco products at work for a few years. So don't let me be the judge.
Those of you who are new to this field need to tackle your Network + cert first. It will help you build a decent foundation. If you already have a decent foundation and understand the basics, you are ready to tackle the CCNA. I didn't read through the whole Sybex book but what I did read I found presented well with excellent explainations.
I guy at work had an old Troy Tec Study Guide and I read through that. It was a good brain dump and the questions in the back where o.k. If you can get it for free then do it but Todd's book looks like it is a better deal.
I won't tell you what was on the test but I will tell you that if you read the Sybex book and understand and remember the commands you will pass. Don't forget to do the exercises after each chapter.
One more thing. Like all these exams it is important to read the questions carefully. It seems they are more interested in confusing you then just presenting the question. But if you take your time and read the questions carefully (re-read them several times) they will become clearer and the answer will be easier to find. Remember like any multiple choice test...the answer is in front of you, you just have to recognize it.
I wish all of you success. It takes courage and hard work to tackle new endeavors and hear is a little something for those of you who might not make it the first time.

Excellent way to end 2001 my friend! All in all, would you say the CLI portion of the exam was straigh forward or did Cisco throw in some curve balls on that part? Also, did you feel everything was touched on equally?
