Now, all the old exams had beeen retired long ago, how the heck we can redo (UPGRADE) all retired electives (e.g, TCP/IP, IIS4, Proxy 2,,,) AFTER exam 240 but BEFORE 12/30/01???

I notice that every guy in here keep asking what exam to take next (e.g, 219, 221, 222,,,) but not mention anything about how many more electives exams you MUST take AFTER 240?? Well, what about those RETIRED exams that this forum saying about? Don't we have to worry about it too? Just simply pass 240 and only one more elective from 219, 220, 221, etc.. CERTAINLY do not get us anywhere, am I right or am I wrong?? Please comments on this...

Can some kind souls here explain for me this so confusing track so I know what to take next, thanks a lot..

It's confusing I know, so I double checked this with MS a few weeks ago. They confirmed that as Limsam says, there is no requirement to update electives completed on the old track.

Just to clarify - the main page for the Win2K MCSE on Exam Notes was written long ago when Microsoft was still threatening to decertify everyone who didn't upgrade by December 31, 2001. At that time if your electives were retired, you were required to upgrade them or loose your MCSE status.

Microsoft has since changed their tune, decided not to decertify the NT4 MCSE's and decided to let retired electives still count toward the Win2K MCSE. It wasn't until a couple of months ago that Microsoft changed the original policy.

Hope this helps to clear it up for you.
