I'm located across the bridge from Tampa. Since the 911 to place the IT market here in Tampa isn't that good unless you have some good experience and Cert's or you know someone. But I believe it will be coming back to where it was this summer in my opinion.

Tampa IT
I just finished my MCSE and landed a job as a trainer with a local CTEC. Starting salary = $43,000 including quarterly bonuses.

Good question
Clearwater, St.Petersburg (across the bridge), and Tampa are all within a 20 mile radius and are all three adjacent to each other. The three cities are known as the Greater Tampa Bay area.
Many people live in the Clearwater area and commute (across the Gandy bridge) to work in Tampa. Pay is higher in Tampa for the most part and cost of living is cheaper in Clearwater and surrounding cities.
Hope I've helped.

It's good to see that a few other members of this board live/work in the Tampa area. I live in Lakeland and work in Tampa. I haven't been job searching in a while but a year and a half ago when I was there were a lot of openings in the Tampa and Orlando areas (Lakeland's halfway between the two).

I've been looking for the past 6 months in the Tampa area for a different position and have had a few interviews, but it seems like all the businesses want a overqualified people and then they dont want to pay jack for them to work... I personally think the IT job market is a little better in Orlando from what I've seen on the Internet and in the paper, but I'd rather stay in this area.
