 Ping Problems
Merry Xmas all.
I have a multi-homed 2000 box, which is running NAT and has two NICs...one for my internal network, and one for external.
My internal NIC is connected to a switch, and this switch is connected to my internal router.
I can ping up to my internal NIC from my router, but nothing external. The strange thing is, I can ping anything internal and external from the switch.
I took off all access lists and disabled my firewall to no avail.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

r both nics in the same network or in different segments?
if the nics are in different networks, then you need to tell the box to route between networks, by static routes or enable rip between the 2 nics !

are you sure that your router knows how to get your external network. I think that if you can reach both network from your switch, and not from your router, it might be a routing problem . normally, for your router to reach your external network, the route to this segment must be through your internal NIC. if you find another solution, I would like to know what is was about !!!
