Wink CCNA 2.0 aftermath

Just wanted to add my two cents to everyone contemplating this certification. It is a great cert to get, but don't take it lightly. I have taken a class at a local college on Cisco Routing and switching and it was a good course, I fealt pretty confident myself and what I learned. But there seems to be something with me and exams that you aren't allowed to check your answers or go back.
I have passed my course with an A+ and I fealt very comfortable with the concepts of the class, but there was alot of thought put into the exam, it's extremely well rounded and hits a lot of areas. I personally failed my first time this past friday, but now I know the areas that I am weak in. The passing score is 849 out of 1000 in case any might need to know and I scored an 839.
I am going to study another week, and hit the areas the test told me I was week on and try it again.

My suggesstions for future takers of the CCNA would be to try as best as you can to relax and take your time while testing. The ones you know click away but the ones your unsure of take your time you can afford a minute or two on the tough ones. Study the OSI layer. CCNA study guide by Sybex to me is a super resource. Make sure of your answers before you click next! I made alot of silly mistakes, just trying to rush the exam.

Another thing for Students who were former military, The Government has a program set up for re-embursement for people who are elgible for benefits. Here is a link for those interested in more information. The re-embursement is for microsft, comptia, and cisco exams, and it also covers oracle certifications as well.
http://www.gibill.va.gov/Education/LCweb.htm

The best part about the above benefit is it will cover your exams whether you pass or fail. Upto 2000 dollars each exam! It takes some of the pressure off.
The purpose of this post is to encourage all of those who haven't taken or attempted this cert yet.

Good luck,

Chris

I am getting a aas degrre in network administration and bas in software programming. I took the a+ and the first rtwoo cisco courses as part of my aas. After i took the a+ course I studied for another month and passed both exams first time. When I took the first two cisco exams I decided to study the rest on my own and passed (956) first time about 3-4 months later while I was taking two eng101 and 102. This is not to say the exam was easy I read the cisco press on my lunch and fell asleep with the book over my face every night, hwat a wierdo huh. Do not stop with just the ccna and most of all get a degree in electronics, buis, or computer filed.

Thumbs up Interesting!!

Interesting aftermath here. You should know that you only have one chance with the questions, no going back on this one! When I sat mine I slapped myself a few times after clicking the button because I put the wrong answer!!

It is a take your time sort of exam, and definately know the subject matter.
