Sybex was only good for CCNA preparation. Most of their other books are disappointing after you've read CCNA by Todd Lammell
Cisco leaves the rest behind when you go for more advanced certification.

Im using both. They each have their points. The people who write the Cisco Press books also write the tests. However they arent always easy to understand.

I agree - but stick to Ciscopress, I find that if I have anything I don't understand a quick search on this site finds it's been raised before.

Well mcoates,
Exam Preparation library is good if you don't have that much overall experience in the topics covered. They are the official texts for the CCNP courses set by Cisco.
they give you good in-depth knowledge in Routing, Switching, Remote Access and Troubleshooting.
The Prep Library does not contain any CDs.
If you have good experience then go for CCNP Certification Library. These books are recommended if you just need to brush up on the topics for the exam.
They have CDs with them that contains exam test software and pdf version of the books.
I am just using the Prep library and Boson 1,2 & 3 because I can't justify paying some more money to get the Cert books....yet!

You'll need to check with GK as to what course materials they supply with BSCN.
Cisco's Prep books are taken from their own course materials amd written by the instructors themselves.

I agree with FastIP. I used the Cisco Press and Exam Cram books for the CCNA. I am using Cisco Press Exam Cert Library for CCNP. Boson has good practice test.
