Cool Passed CCNA + Important thoughts

Passed on friday. The test is not as hard as
people make out. All short questions and the subnetting and access lists everyone worries about so much were pretty simple. I used the
Sybex (lamelle) book and can honestly say that everytinhg in the exam was to be found in the book. Many people say that book
is no good,I totally disagree with them and can only conclude that they rely too much on
being spoon fed by Bosons or Trancenders.
I used the Sybex book and the study guide
on this site and that was plenty. People must learn the content of the book not the quesions. I would rather learn harder than waste potential drinking money on companies who profit off peoples insecurity about there own ability to perform and achive.
I believe in myself. You dont need to "cheat"

I wish everyone a happy festive season and
give it your best.

Regards
Drummer Dude

thanks...

Congratulations, and thanks for the insight and feedback on the test and how to prepare. I'm glad to hear that everything is in Lammle's book, because I've read it through a couple of times and review it daily. I'm probably about ready for the test. I plan to take it after the holidays.

Have fun drumming and drinking. You've earned it.

Lightbulb BOOK USED

I used the current CCNA 2.0 Sybex
book. You must know everyting in
that book and you should be fine.

Many people on these forums claim that they
picked up a "book" and passed after 2 or 3
weeks of study which I find difficult to fathom. They are all just so convienently clever that passing the exam was just a trivial consequence of an effortless attempt. Being in the IT industry I can assure you that it is bloated with people who say they can do this and that but they know bugger all! Such people who do these certifications in record time I find rather suspect. It will take a while to get all
that info in, about 2 months or so.

Remember you must know everyting in the book!! Study hard!! KIck XXX!! God bless!!

Well done mate.

Ive got Lammle's book to, so thats encouraging, Im pretty nearly ready for it.
Im doing Boson as well. Did you find the questions generally ok (pretty much like the Lammle pratice tests) or trickier in the way they were worded?

Thanks and good luck with career from now..

Bosie...

Exclamation Exam question comparison

Ok, the Lamelle book questions are not
like the exam questions in that you
will not find questions in the exam
that are worded exactly the same.

However the questions are of the same length
so there are no long scenario questions.
There are some drop and drag questions
where you will test your OSI knowledge
on a simple exam exibit. People on this forum exagerate about the tricky questions.
They are worded pretty straight forward.

Switching and IOS are the hardest part of the
exam. The sybex book might pose a question
like;

What is frame tagging? And give you four
options straight from the book.

The real exam will give you four very
differently worded options but it is the
exact process of what happens to that tag
from begining to end that will pull you
through. To learn just the answers on the
test engine will cause you problems.

My tip is to write the dummy tests once weekly and never look at the awnsers untill
a day or 2 before you write. That will give you a more accurate indication of your real progress. There is plenty of time in the exam so give yourself the benefit of reading each question slowly.

Learn 2 chapters a day and read the entire book over the weekend for a few weeks.

Give it stick!!
