Hey peeps.
I am currently starting to write a book I will call "Newbie tips to tweaking your system" it will not be a great one. I don't expect it to be a top seller. But I do want to spread a little of my knowledge, Even if it's just within city limits.
Anyways the problem I am having is the starting point. I mean, I have never written a book before(Beside poetry) and I do not know how to start it off. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly apprieciated.
The book will have tweaks for the registry for advanced users and simple little tasks, like increasing virtual memory, for the computer dummies.

I suspect your actual starting point will be to identify the process of writing a book. Different people use different methods.

You could make a list (table of contents) of chunks of info you think will appeal to buyers - readers. Then with each "line item", read it and say "So what"? As an example: "Overclocking", "So what"? If you come back with an answer, keep asking: "So what"? Untill it no longer makes sense to ask and you have a compelling answer.

Take that to the newsgroups and ask if they want the info.
