Smile Well.. back to it after looongg break

Hello people...

Last year I studied for NT 4.0 exams.. got a job and now I lost it so I getting back to it. Bought a book. First one for 2K. I am starting out with 70-210. Is that a good start for the first exam?

Another question. When does MCSE for W2K retires?

Thanks =)

Thumbs up W2K Track

What I would suggest is that you learn 210 (Professional) and 215 (Server) together as these exams overlap.

I took 210 first and if I had not studied both exams together I would have probably lost about 10 questions because they were server related.

I hope this helps!!

Hello fellow Clevelander!

Either 70-210 or 70-215 is good to start. As wbafrank stated, there is quite a bit of overlap between the two exams and you will encounter "Server" type questions on the 210 exam.

I took 210 first and then 215. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably take 215 first and then 210.

Good luck to you.

Hey Spid... where in Cleveland exactly are you? Small world this Internet is... =)

Well... I started to study for 210. I figure its 25 chapters, 2 chapters a day that would take me around 13 days =) Hopefully I will be able to get my MCP in January. We'll see... for now, when I took practice tests I didn't pass. I would get around 40-50 % right, so I need to put my nose in my books once again. I kind of forgot about my pursuing since I found a kick XXX job for a great company which I was going to retire from (being 25 it had to be good if I decided that it was it right? ) But now, I lost my job and need to get back on it. I am kind of excited I guess. Always wanted to have this little credit card looking thing from MS saying "Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer" =)

Market is pretty rough right now, people who were studying for their MCSE 4.0 couple years ago (the time I was studying) today, they have their certifications, but I don't. JObs are more defined these days. I remember the time when you knew how to build a simple web site with the shopping card and you were considered e-commerce expert. Now they have degrees for this..

But it's time to get certified, get off my a** and study hard...

Hi Maxxym,

I am westsider, grew up in Westlake and currently live in North Olmsted.

Let me kind of add on to what I posted before. If you are already plowing through materials for 210, I'd just stay on course. IMHO, you can handle the 210 exam without getting wrapped up in studying 215 material as well, but understanding that you will see some "server" oriented questions on the 210 will help you prepare, and you will naturally begin studying "server" type material as well. Here are two links that I posted previously. The first post deals with what I encountered on the 210 when I took it. The other post re-hashes the combination of materials I use to prepare for the 2000 track of exams that seems to work fairly well for me.
