Well, I didnt do well...
I failed today with a 440. very hard exam. I dont mean to be negative, but I used EXAM CRAM, read through the Microsoft Official Curriculum and did a couple practice tests. I didnt use transcenders. Is this my downfall? I need more suggestions. I getting Transcenders as we speak, and I will use that, but anything else????
I took the exam, there were about 25 questions that I just plainly didnt know. I was surprised... I thought I studied.
Thanks for all your support, I will try again.
Becky

Sorry to hear that coronagirl, I haven't taken the 70-210 yet or even began to study for it, but I try to read everything I can about it. So far I have seen this. Study the Microsoft training kit. Troytec study guides. And do the transenders. And try to get your hands on windows 2000 OS. I know that it really helped me to be able to play around with the OS for my A+. also check out the tread here under mcse 70-210 called (Poll:210) by potatohead. Good luck.

Sorry to hear your result
Sorry to hear about your result, better luck next time.
I actually used the MS MCSE Training kit book and MS Readiness Review book/CD-ROM (contains sample questions).
When I did the test I actually studied 210 (Professional) and 215 (Server) together as I found on the 210 test some subject matter from the 210 which would have cost me about 10 questions wrong!
This maybe the way ahead.
Better luck next time.

Definitely use a transcender simply because they do a great job of explaining why an answer is what it is. They also do a good job of showing what Microsoft is looking for in their answers. Some of the questions you see on Microsoft exams have more than one correct answer. The transcenders show you what the 'best' answer is according to Microsoft.

Becky
Have to agree with wbafrank,i learned 70-210 and 70-215 together, taking both Tests together tomorrow. There is actually some Questions in 70-210 that you can't possibly know without learning the 70-215 (Server).
What also helps me is that i have in my Garage 7 Computers, from win 98 to 2000 Prof.,a File+Printserver,a Domaincontroller and several XP-Prof. - Workstations.
I am not saying you need all that but i can "play" all those Szenarios on my Domain that the're talking about in the Tests.
Two old Pentium 200's will get you a lot of experience in the Win2000 Network-enviroment,and it doesn't have to cost a lot.
Good Luck next Time,Becky!
Stay in Touch,i will let you know tomorrow, how i did. (gasp)

Sorry, Becky
It takes a lot of courage to tell everyone that you failed, especially people that you don't even truly know. I am very sorry that you didn't pass....this time. BUT, you will pass and when you finally do, you will look back at this moment and appreciate it.
I just scheduled to take the test on the 22nd and after reading everyone's comments about this test and the study material I am nervous. I am using the MCSE Training Kit and Exam Cram and feel pretty comfortable about taking the test, but after hearing your experience, I hope that I haven't studied the wrong material. I have been administering our company network on NT 4 for the past 2 years, but regardless of what anyone says, there is a big diff between NT 4 and 2000. On the surface, they "look" similar, but behind the scenes it is another beast.
Becky, again, I am sorry to hear that you failed, but failing is not the end of the world. In fact, failing can be very beneficial. Good luck to you in the future!

I know...
The reason I posted my failure is because everyone else out there is posting their "pass"- and you know as well as I that there are quite a number of "fails".
Since Aug of this year I have been taking college courses to prepare me for this exam, I finished them Nov 19th and studied and crammed since then. My grades in these classes were an A and a B. So, Im thinking I know this stuff and I just need to study. One thing I found out at the exam yesterday was to study SERVER also. Dont just study PRO. I remember in class we studied some SERVER info as well as 70-210.
I downloaded TRANSCENDERS last night, and went through a practice exam and didnt do very well. When I looked at the Transcenders exam I noticed "OH MY GOD- IT LOOKS IDENTICAL TO MICROSOFT'S EXAM..... IDENTICAL format and almost Identical questions. Interesting huh? Needless to say, Im going to be practicing it everyday until my next exam. One thing I didnt do in this adventure is do practice tests... I did a few, but not that much...Im going to retake before the end of the year. I hope this helps. I know I feel alot more positive about all of it.
Have a good day and study study.....
Becky
