Question Integrating with NT Retire Test?

I received a newsletter yesterday informing me that quote:

"Now that Novell is pushing NetWare 6 CNE certification, a few exams are about to retire. These include:

- 50-644 Integrating NetWare and Windows NT version 1.02 (retires on December 15, 2001)
- 50-656 Desktop Management with ZENworks (retires on April 1, 2002) "

I was planning on taking the Integrating Netware and NT cert to finish my CNE. I am currently studying Adv Admin 5.1 which I plan to test for within the next few weeks.

My question ..... Is there another version of this test or is there no longer any elective dealing with NT at all. I went to the site but was confused on my options. CNE still lists Integ w NT as an option. I know there are many other options, but I am using material that I can use to self study and there isn't much available for most of CNE electives.

Thanks for your help!

To my knowledge, when the NW6 exams come out there will be no electives - just core tests which include TCP/IP and Zenworks

Cool Still a live test

Hey Leisa:

I too am taking the NT integration test (50-644)..
I am slated to take it next Friday the 21st. It is still a live test on the CNE track but it will expire soon (probably over the next 2 months or so).

I spoke with Novell Education today and they told me that it is retiring on the Master CNE track only, and that is happening on Dec.15th! ..but as for the CNE it is still OK to take.

I myself have this test plus 2 others before I am a CNE.

Good luck!

CNE 5.1 Track

Sorry I wasn't specific. I'm planning on finishing my CNE 5.1 and then take the one exam to upgrade to 6.0. So my question is... Can I still take the Intergrating w NT to receive my CNE 5.1 after 12/15/2001?

Thanks

Cool You certainly Can!

The answer is..
YES!
You can still take this test and become a CNE in NW5.
This test will be in the CNE track for at least 6-8 more weeks.. at LEAST..

I too am trying to finish my CNE by then --kind of like what you are doing -- thus only needing 1 more test to stay at a CNE for NW6...

its the MCNE program which is pulling the plug on 50-644 this Saturday the 15th...

Hope that cleared it up for you..

Cool one more thing

To clear thing up even more for you,
there is NO technical difference between a CNE in 5.0 or 5.1

Novell just calls it a CNE5 for either one.. check out their progress chart to verify this if you want.

It does not matter which tests you go about to get your CNE in NW5 as long as you follow their progress chart on their website..

Thanks for clearing that up for me

J.C.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was a little confused when I went to the link from the newsletter.

Good luck with 644 the 21st and with all your future tests too!
