CompTIA

Is it just me, or is CompTIA certs becoming more and more popular and "worthy" with each passing day?

Well, I really don't know if it's "just you", but I sure HOPE that CompTIA is getting more & more recognition as I currently hold A+, Net+, and i-Net+!!

I think that since they also just announced the e-biz+, ctt+, server+, that may be why they're becoming more popular?
What does everyone else think?

I am not sure, but in the past two years, they have went from having two cert programs to nearly a dozen. They are definitely expanding.

I hold several CompTIA certs myself, and the reason why I ask this is because in the past CompTIA, especially the A+, was concidered to be the "Entry-level" certification to more advanced certifications like MCSE, etc., but it seems to me that CompTIA is more and more beginning to stand their ground on their own as a standalone certification.

Hope this continues.

I'm rather happy that CompTIA seems to be dedicated to improving the worth of their certifications by shutting down some of the sources of cheat material. That's good news for everyone that works hard for their cert. Certifications aren't cheap; they should be worth something!

I certainly think they are more worthy. A+ may only have appealed to those in the desktop support field, but now with more exams for other areas of IT, more people will become familiar with who CompTIA is. I also think the exams are proving to be difficult to earn, which makes them more worthwhile.

I do think that the CompTIA exams are still the best bet for anyone who wants to get started in the industry.

I only wish more people would consider CDIA (a.k.a. CDIA+ soon). Noone outside of document imaging companies seem to know what in the heck it is. But document imaging is actually a tool I've seen utilized by the two previous companies I worked with, and I understand it is widely used in the banking industry.

Thumbs up CompTIA

I totally agree with all the posts. CompTIA has got its act together now and the certifications are starting to become more popular by both the employee and employer.

The cost of the exams also mean that you can't afford to fail them so its study hard and pass them exams!

Remember "CERTIFICATION" is to enhance your skill, something that u already know.

Certification is to proof to your boss and recuriter that you "ABLE" to operate that specific system. It increase your chance to get promotion and hire.

CompTIA only provide general knowledge.

Certification Market is HOT, all vendors are increasing their price.
