long logon in win2k pro on win2k server
Situation: 1 2k server, 4 2k pro, 10 win98.
if win2k pro does not have 2kserver dns, logon lasts forever, (I dont event get to the logon screen, its just loding). If I unplug network cable, logon prompt appears withing 5 to 10 seconds. When I put dns 2k server on pro, logon is normal.
Any comments? active directory installed with dns server with root domaina also.

That the dns integration (ie integral) to your active directory zone. Its trying to resolve its (2k client) authentication point.Whats the problem? Why the overhead of active directory and an integrated zone for 14 pc`s.Dont tell me security becouse thats laughable.
Why do mcse`s complicate the technology more than MS does?
