.scr file?
I got an email a few days ago in my hotmail account and when I opened it you know how you can see the attachments under the "Re:" line. Well it had 2 attachments and they were:
"Humor.MP3.scr" and "text5.txt"
I know that last one is a text file, but I have never seen a file end in "MP3.scr". Any idea what it is? I'm just curiuos, I did delete the email so the attachments were never opened and besides I didn't know the sender in the first place.

.scr is a screensaver extension - Probably wise of you not to open - could've been a virus.

.scr files
Ignore attachments you don't expect even from people you know.
The nasty email viruses out there now replicate themselves in your address book, so it "appears" you get email from people you know.
Who here has been hit by the Goner "Hi" virus in their network yesterday or today? Some said it may be worse than the ILOVEYOU virus.

These are all extensions of the LOVE BUG. Anytime you see an attachment with 2 extensions such as *.MP3.scr you've been targeted by a virus. 2 file extensions = bad news!!
By the way, the patch to save yourself from this virus on your network was made available back when the LOVE BUG hit. If you applied an Outlook Security patch back in April or May, you would have protected yourself against this. And for all those network admins that haven't put some sort of antivirus program on the Exchange Server - WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR???????
