Just curious if anyone knows if anyone knows what routers beside the 2500 and 2600 series would be good for CCNA and CCNP. I just would like to get something i can get used to using some commands with

Besides the 2500 or 2600 series? A cheaper alternative to the 2500 series, would be the 1600 series router, and a cheaper alterative to the 2600s would be the 1700 series router.

I think that the 2600 series routers are basically the best choice. Although they do not have the horsepower that some of the higher end routers have, you can implement nearly any protocol, including from RIP to BGP, with it.

I've never implemented BGP in a 2600, and I can't think of many scenarious in which you would want to, but I am told that it can be done. Obviously, you would not want full Internet routing tables running on your 2600 series router.
