hmm, just wondering if any1 has used cheet sheets, i think some of the answers are incorrect.

one, theres a q about internet printing on a 2kpro workstation, what should u have installed,

i thought u had to have the peer web services thingy installed, as troytech states..
cheet sheets answer was IIS.
i thought iis was for server if u wanted interet printing.
now which one is right..
both conflict..

If you are using 2K Pro, then the answer wouls be PWS. IIS cannot be installed on Pro.

THe question in the URL you provide refers to a Server, in which case IIS would be correct.

Zeps, I guess we would have to have the full question as written to determine if there are any loopholes in the question. For instance, in this case, as I believe it is, is the 2K Pro pc utilised as a print server? If so then PWS is it.

I may be wrong and if I am then please let me know.

That my friends is a perfect example of why you need to check any Q&A type Study form, the fact now that you have questioned and answered it for your self you know you will not get any IIS/PWS printing issues wrong.

I've questioned the transender questions at times but verdict of who is right or wrong has les worth than the process of figuring it out..

It doesn’t matter what or where the study guide is without questioning everything on it your not studying, its just monkey se monkey do. and there is enough people in this industry with no idea don’t be one of them.

Actually either PWS or IIS can be installed on Pro. Why? I did it myself. I developed our company's website. I used Pro platform with IIS installed on it. Things are a little bit tricky with Windows 2000. You can not install IIS on NT Workstation; however you can do that on Pro.

The key to the question is that Internet printing needs a web server. Both IIS and PWS will be OK for the scenario. However it is recommended to install PWS on Pro because it is a cut-down version of IIS.

You are right, sandrewf. How to figure it out is more important.

I have a sneaky memmory of this in NT. I have a memmory that can install IIS on an NT workstation but the full IIS isnt installed (although you can run the set up exe)just a cut down version goes on. Which is, you guessed it, Peer Web Services. Not sure about 2000 pro though, it could be the same!?
Hmmm perhapes I agree that if the question states pro then pws if server then iis. Technet seems to think so. However can you install peer web services on a 2000 server? If so why would the pws be wrong for server but right for pro?
This is really bugging me now!

we seem to be going in circles!!!!!

Someone must be able to finish this one of once and for all!

There is many things that can be done, even if there is no documentation that says you can,

PWS is for a workgroup (notice the term "Peer") as the question states nothing about a domain or workgroup this fact dosnt help much, but as you wont have "servers" in a workgroup I dont think the answer is IIS as they would have said server not pro.

I would answer PWS, but remember even gods make mistakes,
