Lightbulb Take e-Biz+ certification - if you have E-Commerce CIW

A heads up on a certification that you should go for if you are already a CIW - ECommerce certified. CompTIA's e-Biz+. I downloaded the cram sheet of cramsession.com (plus you want to explore and read all the hyperlinks in the document). With a few days of studying that on top of your CIW knowledge I think you will find the eBiz+ test fairly easy!

just a tip to my follow CIW folks!

I looked them up and compared between the two: they actually a bit similar...
so, study 1x for 2 exams?

Talking a cert is a cert!!! why not!

I was just looking at the objectives on the CompTIA page one day (I had my iNet+ and Network+) and I was like "hey, that looks a lot like my SD / E-Commerce stuff!"

It was a slam-dunk really - I studies the downloads on Cramsession.com (I wrote the review if you take a look) and it was EASY - 86% with 2 days on review.

To me is was more like a "why not" vs a "why bother." A cert is a cert and with CompTIA - it's good for like - no re-certification.

(got to love that!!!)

the thing is, CIW exam is NOT cheap
and yet, FEW companies have actually heard of its name, let alone understand the value of CIW certs

It's a "sleeper" - check out this link

Even Cert Mag called it a "sleeper" certification

http://www.certmag.com/issues/aug01/sg/

http://www.certmag.com/issues/aug01/sg/ed_letter.cfm

It's no A+ or MCSE, but it is growing!

"In the world of computer certifications, the “sleeper” of the year would have to be Prosoft’s CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) certification. As reported in the May issue of Certification Magazine (Editor’s Note), there were 10,000 CIWs in September of last year. By February of this year that number had jumped to 16,000, and it has now passed 20,000. This represents a doubling in number in a very short time."

Is it enough ???

Hello bodyart27,

Since you've passed e-Biz+, I'd like to ask you about it?

I've just taken the Master CIW Designer, and just finished the E-Commerce exam so I'm thinking about it,

So you said that you just read the cramsession notes about it and reviewed the e-commerce stuff... is that enough bodyart27
and isn't there any resources more on the net for it???

I'm really concerned about this,
waiting for your reply

studying

I thought my notes from E-Commerce along with the cramsession on cramsession.com were enough. On the cram session - be sure to go to all the links listed on the cram session. All of them are worth a read.

A lot of "buzzwords" - (see my review of the cramsession on cramsession.com), but a lot of knowledge (theory, etc) from CIW carries over so it makes it an easy read.

There were still a couple of questions I had no idea about - but throughout the exam my confidence was very high as a lot of the questions were easy based on my CIW knowledge. I knew before the final score I was doing well on the exam.

more..

not sure if I answerd your question ...

1) yes, I thought it was enough to pass the exam w/ my other knowledge from the CIW content

2) no, there really is *very* little available on the net or in book form about the e-Biz program. I believe the e-Biz certification was absorbed by CompTIA (look at the Comptia.org press releases - it's there) and book publishers have not had a whole lot of time to prepare for it.

I passed Ebiz+ too with ecommerce right behind!!

Passed Ebiz+, thanks to studying the E-Commerce designer materials. Do not kid yourself - I squeaked by and am happy to get a pass!! I am taking the ecommerce this week and am confident I will do better on it. So be careful if you go for it!!!
