2 weeks later and I am a Win2k MCSE!!!
Just got back from bootcamp where in 14 days I learned all there was about Windows 2k. It wasn't as bad as I thought, and I actually retained a lot instead of just memorizing stuff. It was well worth it, so much so that I am doing the bootcamp for CCNA. I passed all 7 tests on the first try, scoring no less than 200 points higher than needed on each one! Server by far was the easiest and then ADD. I thought the design tests were going to be awful, but I was done with each one in less than an hour! I HIGHLY recommend going to a bootcamp if you have some experience with Win 2k.

That is funny you say the market is flooded with MCSE's....I am sure it is, but NOT Win2K MCSE's. I heard the goal was to have 80,000 Win2K MCSE's by 2001 and they didn't even come close, about half that figure. But whatever, it was hard and I feel GREAT to have accomplished it!

With the coming adoption of many other solutions, the days of NT dominance are ending.Espcially with the unnacceptable security issues that plague the NT 4 & 5 platforms.
You dont need an MCSE to administrate the platform. You dont learn real implementation of NT from studying for M$ tests.Ask an NT admin.
An accomplishment it just that.So congratulations.

I'm sorry but there is NO way that the design exams can be done in less than an hour unless you are just a braindump monkey. Simply on the basis of the amount of information to read you would be hard pressed to read and digest it all from scratch in an hour, and then there's the 40 questions to answer.
I have heard of people passing in an hour, but only from people who just regurgitate what they have learned parrot fashion from braindumps. If you are going to do that then why bother paying for a bootcamp? Also I thought bootcamps were 2 weeks for core exams and another week for electives.

i do not like to rain on anybody's parade so congrats on your mcse.however i am just finishing up on my electives and i seriously wonder about a mcse program for 2 weeks.i attended a fast passed school for 2 months and it was not a cakewalk.i studied everynight for hours ; my head still from it.the school's schedule was a test a week but there was no one that ever did it.we extended the class for a few more weeks and when we were done i still had 2 electives to take.i feel that this 2 week school was just a expensive braindump.good luck to all....

I have been doing the mcse now since last year December. I am just coming up to my last exam now, 222. How anyone can really think they know the subjects after just 2 weeks is beyond me. I have been stuggling with my home network, taking a exam every 2 months or so etc. Making sure i know the subject matter. Bootcamps are for kids with rich parents

Jen,
I just wanted to say congrats. This has been an interesting thread to read, everyone has their own opinion and the forums would be boring otherwise.
You obviously worked hard, capitalised on your previous work experience and did a great job with the exams. Well done!
I hope you'll hang around on the forum and become a regular contributor.
Cassie
