BARELY passed!!
Well guys,
Finally done with this evil test. I have been studying for it off and on for months and I still only passed with a 640. Some of you brainiacs out there may be able to get an 800 first time around, but it took me 2. A couple of things to watch out for:
about a 3rd of this test was ambiguous questions... I had almost as much trouble figuring out what they wanted in some as I did finding the right answer. Most of my test (wasn't like this in the last one so dont get your hopes up) was DHCP and RRAS. There were two questions on NAT, one on ICS, a few on WINS, 2 on CAs, 3 on subnetting, a few on DNS, and all the rest was DHCP and RRAS. There were no questions on superscopes and way less on WINS than I expected. This may not be true for all of the tests, but for those of you about to take it.. I think the smaller subjects will be pretty close to the same for you guys and may help you to watch what to concentrate on. If you guys need more specific info (like what questions did i get?) send me an email with your question and ill do my best to help. I am not the best at analyzing hypothetical situations on a computer screen in a phlorescent lit room, but I can memorize them... good luck everybody! I will see you in the 70-217 forums. Hopefully that one won't be as brutal as this was.

Congrats on the pass, and thanks for your insight from your experiences with the exam--I hope my second time around is the charm for the 216!

I also just passed today, and although it was my first try I only passed with a 620 out of 620.
Definately by the skin o my teeth.
I had at least 5 NAT routing protocol questions 3 or 4 CA questions.
3 drag and place and lots of diagrams and several "choose all that apply"
I think what saved me was DNS DHCP and my IP knowledge"
This test is a real bear but now I feel like Danl Boone.
"Chodan kilt a bear rite here 2001"
onward and upwar to server now.
BTW this is a harder test than 70/221 which I passed easily.

I passed yesterday with 720 out of 620 on first try.. Took me 20 minutes. I took a couple of days off from work and studied for a few hours.. It wasn't that bad. I have the new troytec and keen if anyone wants it.
But, don't be a paper MCSE.. I know this stuff cause I do it on a daily basis at work. Also study the Exam Cram and the MS-PRESS books..

Thanks Brainiac
Congrats on the pass. It must be nice to use the services daily, but some of us dont have that opportunity right now and are getting these certifications so that someday we will be able to get jobs like yours. The rest of us will just have to study hard, and practice with the tools we have....
Do me a favor, if you dont have a question or something nice to say, dont reply to my posts. The posts are here to help people get certifications by working together to understand the material better and to encourage people to continue to try for them even when things get tough. Your attitude is noted, but definitely not needed. Good luck on the rest of your stuff, the rest of us will just have to bow down to your greatness since you can do it all alone with no help or real studying.. heh

Thats funny?
You don`t usually see someone advocating using "Troytecs and Keen Cheetsheets" and complaining about "paper MCSE`S" in the same post.
Hmmm confusing
