word question
1. how can I get rid of the places bar that appears in the save as dialog box and the open dialog box, I have only found out that it can customized.
2. Is it possible that when opening documents to have the default open to my computer or not (I am thinking my computer is not a document so it probably would not work, well it does not I have tried it.

Yes, you can change the default My Documents directory when you open a document.
click Tools, Options, and the File Locations tab.
