Cool

Although I have been lurking on these boards for awhile, this is my first posting. I am an ex grocery store manager of over 20 years who decided on a change of career. To make a long story short, I ended up enrolling in a business school that offers a Network Operations Technician course which prepares the student for all the MCSE core exams. Alot of other prepatory classes as well including three that got me MOUS certifications in Word, Access, and Excel.
I am almost through except a finishing class called Physical and Electrical Topology that basically covers designing a network and two six week internship periods. One will be in the school covering alot of practicum situations and then one out in the real world.
All the classes are 6 weeks long and the group I am in will be the last one in the NT track. Our school is a VUE testing center also, so that I have been able to take all my tests there. Tuition covers the core but we get a discount rate for the electives which for me will be TCP/IP and Exchange Server 5.5. I shut the lid on the core yesterday with an 888 for Server In The Enterprise. My group was suppose to have two six week semesters to prepare for Enterprise but because of the time constraints we had to condense it into one six week period. All the other core classes were one six week period each. We used Course Technology books and CBTs. In addition I used Transcender and the Exam Cram book as well as the usual dumps to get me through this exam. I had the 55 fixed length test from hell. But I passed!! Although I was eligble to take the exam for each of the core as soon as I had completed the coursework, I waited until the last of October to actually start taking them. Four tests passed in four weeks!!! I made 933 on the Essentials test, 900 for Workstation and 833 on Server.
I am going to take a week off for Thanksgiving now and give my brain a much needed rest before taking on TCP/IP.
I want to thank everyone for their input which helped me tremendously and tell anyone preparing for this exam that when you use the dumps, not only know why the correct answer is right but almost as important to know why a wrong answer is wrong. If you can do that, then when you see questions that may not have been in the dumps, you can still reason out the correct one by eliminating what you think is not right.
Robert

You did very good. Me, after being a secretary, started to learn for MCSE.Right now I am working as what they call here, a Network Specialist. I have enterprise left, for my MCSE. I passed the other five all at the first time. But getting nervous for Enterprise. It is planned for december the 12th. So I still have a couple of weekends to learn.
Once again, you did great.

Great job, guys. This is very inspirational. I was a college Professor before I decided to get into networking. Rude awakenings!

Thanks!
Forgot to mention that we also took an A+ class. For the first three weeks of the semester we did nothing but read a very thick book on upgrading and repairing computers. The next three weeks were spent tearing apart perfectly good computers and putting them back together again. After that I took and passed the A+ exams. After graduating I am interested in pursuing not only the Win2K certifications, but maybe also the CCNA and possibly the I-Net+.
