Wise ? Cert then experience

Yes, I am pursing my A+ right now, and hopfully when I get certified , should I get a job as repair tech, or a help desk for about 6 months or to a year, then move on to Net+? (which I want to do next). Cause I hear alot about having experience, and was wondering is that a good idea for all certs? To get certified and try to get a job at the cert you have to get more experience then move on?

let me know

It's alot easier to get a help desk job, than a hands on job without any experience, so that might have to be your starting point.
So keep getting certs as you're getting your experience, because if you wait till you get all the experience that alot of the certs reccomend, such as 6month for A+ or 18 - 24 months for Net+, then it'll take you years to get certified. So what can I say, experience will only come with time, so don't wait to get your certs, because achieving them is an experience in itself!
With the right study (not brain dumps) you'll learn alot, which will help build your confidence and will make atleast a couple of dollar difference.

That's what I'm doing and let me tell you, it really pays off and gives you a big sense of accomplishment. Even the A+ can make a $2
difference even in a help desk job. Believe it or not, I've seen the A+ as a requirement for some tech positions.

Once you start doing certs, it's like a rolling ball. Just keep writing as long as you can while you work. Don't stall cuz once you get the cert you don't want to relax, you want to keep going while you're in a studying mood. Remember having certs is better than not having it.

Thanks techdaemon, and Omletteboy, really appreciate it. Yea, cause my plan was to get my A+ and then stop with the certs to get more experience with A+ for like a year then come back to the certs and keep going on that track. But yea, I will just continue to get them, and let the experience come with each cert, right?

This is 100% correct. Any certified person is valued more even though he has very little practical experiance. I have found the same concept in my organisation also. Some experienced persons without certification are guiding the certified persons top of them.

So Goooooooooooooooo for certification.
Best of Luck
