Unstable ME
Has anyone heard if there's a patch getting ready to be released for the ME OS? I can't stand it constantly locking up on me, but I'm not ready to ramp this machine up to Win2k yet. I already have 2 of those on my network.

I have a beta 2 version of the new XP OS - it comes in several flavors - home edition, professional edit., etc. I'm hesitant to load it since it's not supported.
Has anyone tried XP home edit yet?

If your computer keeps on locking up, I personally dont think it is the operating system.
Have you tried reinstalling the OS?
Will the locking up problem go away if you install win 98?
Have you opened up the case to make sure everything is looking good inside?
I say this because I have installed ME on more than 100 computers and have never had it lock up =)
Peace

I think it may be software related. It locks up occassionally if I have multiple IE windows open. Last night it freaked out on me when I modified drivers to get my scanner to work on ME. Then once I got that to work, their fix affected the TWAIN drivers for my web-cam. I haven't opened the case, as this is a fairly new computer that was purchased within the last month. I think the best resolve is to go to Win2k

Remember, when I say "fix" its a relative term
