I'm seriously considering taking the Network+ exam, and I've studied various study guides. My question however, is twofold:

1. I've heard rumors that the Network+ Exam has questions involving LDAP and SSH. On all study guides and CBT's I've seen, I have yet to see either of these at all. For all of you on the board that have taken the Network+ Exam recently, can you verify if it is on the exam or not?

2. Has anyone tried out Exam Essentials? I was wondering if it's worth the money.

Those sound more like i-Net+ questions to me. I didn't use any testing software except for those that came with the books (Sybex mostly).

didn't see any SSH, or LDAP at all on the net+, I think Randy's right--more internet server specific.
I used the web and the dummy's book (which was OK, though didn't make 1 mention of the command-line switches for arp/ping/nbtstat etc!)

I haven't taken the Net+ yet but I have not seen anything on ldap or ssh on anything I have studied which include: Exam Essentials, Exam Drills, Troytec, Transcender and a Brainbuzz cramsession.

Exam Essentials was a great study tool for my CNE, and it was good for A+, I will let you know about Net+ in a week or so.

I took the test on June 15th.
I got a score of 740. So, I'm cramming for the next go around. I found that the test is much as many here have discribed, very strangely worded questions.
I did indeed see both LDAP and SSH on my test.
They both thru me a curve too. I'm still looking for info on both.
