Again Netbeui

Bencher trouble man...I found on examcram question about netbeui

Which protocol works only at the Data Link layer of the OSI model?

A) AppleTalk
B) IPX
C) NetBEUI
D) TCP/IP

Answer is NetBEUI because the NetBEUI protocol does not have a source and
destination network address and therefore is nonroutable. It has to be
bridged or switched if it is to be forwarded beyond its own segment. Answers
a, b, and d are incorrect because AppleTalk, IPX, and TCP/IP are all
routable protocols.

Re: Again Netbeui

Yeah I saw this in ExamCram as well. Given the choices to the question I would choose Netbeui too. They are right it does have to be bridged or switched as it is NOT routable therefore cannot go pass a router.

I would C also, given the answer. Cisco says anyway that it implements LLC2 layer and that is on the datalink layer.

okay guys, just remeber this: comptia doesn't really give a sh*t about what is right or whats wrong. If you think NetBEUI works at layer 2, go ahead, but guess what, you are gonna get it wrong because thats not what compTIA wants to hear.

These online practice exams can be very misleading sometimes because the correct answer might not even be listed!

Cool

You are right but these practice exams arent coming from online. They are coming from the "gospels" itself. furthermore it all depends on the choices given which is the correct answer(s) as we have seen.
