Domain Trusts

Is an explicit trust the same thing a shortcut trust. And is it automatically created when you make a site link bridge?

Explicit trusts are created automatically but not always be the shortest path to the domain that you are trying to reach or authenticate against. This is where shortcut trusts are created; to make access quicker by making a direct connection vice going up and down the forest.
