if it was me i would get the amd and use the 2 or 3 hundred dollars i saved on something else. i have used them for years and havn't had a problem with them.
they are just as fast if not faster then a comparable intel chip. so if you are not doing auto cad or heavy video applications i would go with amd.

Athlons are not only cheaper but beat the Pentium 4 in most benchmarks I've seen. Get an Athlon 1 GHZ or faster like I did.

AMD Athlon T bird is best thats my prefference out performs P4 in most bench marks and T bird is cheaper.
stay well away from P4 expensive although Intel has given P4 price cut.
But intels P111 is fine as well but a little dearer than T bird.
T bird has a 200-266mhz fsb
P111 has a 133 fsb
fsb = Front Side Bus

You'll do just fine with an AMD chip. Spend the extra money you would save on a better graphics card or something else for the computer.

I'd also go with AMD.
Is it just me, or is AMD ganging up with Linux just to irritate Microsoft (x86-64)
hehe, Run Bill.. Run!!!
