What's the real difference between the two? I've been told to take the two of them close together since they're so similar.

The two are very similar, but there are some very real differences:
1. Workstation doesn't support fault
tolerance but Server does.
2. You can have more processors with server
than you can with workstation
3. You can have more incoming and outgoing
RAS connections with Server than you can
with Workstation.
4. Server has alot more utilities than
Workstation does.
There are other differences I am sure, but this is all I could come up with off the top of my head.
