I just created a file and saved it on my network drive (intranet). After I click "save", I was told that I could not save this file on that drive, but the file was saved, then I closed Word window and reopened that file on network drive. I got an error message like this:
"file.doc is locked for editing by 'another user'. Click 'Notify' to open a read-only copy of the document and receive notification when the document is no longer in use."
There was no another user to use that file at that time. Please give me some suggustion. Thanks!

I have had this happen before when I saved a Word file in HTML format and then tried to go back into it.
I had to delete the temp file that was created by Word in the directory the Word file is saved.
