Okey-kokey. My boss shelled out, at my request, on the "Core Four" ExamPrep books and the Microsoft Press "Windows 2000 Accelerated". I blagged a copy of Pro and Server from IT (legit). All set to start learning. I had started re-reading Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" in eager anticipation of the films due to be released, but that can go back on the bookshelf now...I may as well kiss goodbye to the wife and kids too...what a heck of a lot to learn...so much for the easier route to upgrade for existing MCSEs.
I've been emotionally swinging back and forth between, "Oh it can't be that bad" and "Oh sugar". I've finally settled on "Sugar". I'm reckoning on getting through the books by the end of May, taking practice exams and sitting in June. Hope you chaps and chapesses are further ahead than me.
Then we have the lovely senario of my TCP/IP and IIS electives having retired...so three more exams after this one and before the end of the year. Fun, fun, fun.

Shyumu, if I were you I would have gotten your company to purchase the MCSE Training Kit for the Windows 200 Core exams. I have a 1/4 of the way through the WIN2000 Professional book and find it to be very accurate (found one typo so far) and easy to read. I also have the Accelerated book from Microsoft Press and like it but I rather refresh my mind in what I learned in the NT 4.0 track. Better to be safe than sorry. Anyway this is only my opinion. Yes, their is a lot of new stuff to learn but we all have to learn it sometime. Have a great day my fellow Englishman.

Too late came the cry...I have another colleague about to start towards MCSE, I shall pass on your recommendation about the Microsoft Press books...maybe she'll let me borrow 'em. Mind you, I do find the ExamPrep books grab you by the nose and lead you through the material.
An Englishman abroad eh? How do you find the new world colonies? - only joking
