Thumbs up

I shagged a 1000 and it wasn't easy. I took the test about 6:30 after work. I had 35 questions and time 75 minutes. I must say that i had some questions i've never seen! watch out for funny wording, there were questions that had one word off to throw you off. I had questions that i've never seen anywhere. 1. You want to run a unbound OS/2.1 application all the time, what must you do?
1. Run in NTVDM
2. ForceDos from command promt
3. alter it's PIF
4. Run in OS/2 Subsystem

Answer: I choose 4, Run in OS/2 Subsystem which was correct apparantely. I've never seen it but used law of logic to narrow it down.

Now these next few questions blew me away in thought at first, because i always thought NTFS and NT4.0 didn't like Fat32. The question asked

You want to dual boot Win98 and NT4 on a computer that has 1 single hard disk which has a 4.3GB hard Drive. How would you configure the hard Drive. Note: You need to be able to secure files in NT4.

1. 4.3GB NTFS
2. 4.3GB FAT32
3. 2.1GB FAT32 2.2GB NTFS
4. 2.1GB FAT32 2.2GB FAT16

Answer: I choose 3, but my first choice was 2 until i changed to 3 for final answer. I always thought you couldn't use a fat32 partition when dual booting? None of the Choices made sense at first, but i used law of logic again and the question asked you need to secure files for nt4 so i knew i needed NTFS, but just couldn't swallow the thought of using fat32 also, but fat32 won out. Man Microsoft is tricky.

You want to dual boot between win98 and NT4.0. You want them both to share applications but not their file systems.

1 Create 2 fat32 partitions, and one fat partition. Install win 98 and nt4.0 on each Fat32 partition. Install applications on the FAT.

2. create fat32 install nt4.0. Create 2 fat partions, install win98 on one fat and intall applications second fat.

3.???? Cant remember wording

4. Create 3 Fat partitions. Install Win98&Nt4.0 on Fat partitions. Install applications on Fat.

Answer: I choose 4 which was correct

A connection needs to be made to your company's Ras sever. You will be using "Virtual Private Network". You have a ISDN line in your home. Which Protocal will allow you to make a connection.

1. PPTP
2. TCP/IP
3. Streams Environment
4.?

Answer: I choose PPTP because the scenario seemed to lean towards security and pptp provides that.

I had about 7 of the scenario questions and about 5 permissions. Study. I used Transcenders, Exam Essentials and TestOut for Test prep. Used Microsoft Press course wkst/server... On to server test next week,

Exam Cram Nt4 workstation has a great explanation of arch path. If you don't have that book i can email you the method, also Testout has a great study for mastering Arch and Raid. I can supply you that also. I feel like i'll take my test on the 14th. Do you have a small network lab at home? That really helps a lot.
