If you don't have much hands-on better to take CCNP and then CCDA.
I had completed as follows
CCNA
CCDA
Switching
Routing
What I feel is quite some info are covered in CCNP, which will help you to get a better picture to completed CCDA.

I went through the CCNP first to enhance my career as far as the "overall" support perspective. I am now studying for CCDA to refine knowledge in the design aspect of cisco products. The CCDA is easy compared to the CCNP track but CCDP will follow and is tough from what I have heard but getting CCNP first kind of opens the door, and makes those last two tests CCDA and CID the only thing left for CCDP. Having CCNP and CCDP on the resume shows you have achieved prestigous "support" and "design" abilities.
Hope this helps ya!.. Good Luck....

Agreed with kk1186, I took CCDA and CID 3.0 after my CCNA and before any of CCNP exams. Because I don't have access to labs, or hands-on routers/switch to practice CLI/configuration or any simulation software (CIM), so I thought better to take CCDA because its more in concept not so much on command line. I only need understanding concepts and cramming the topics.
I was lucky to pass CID, barely passed it, I think CID should be the last after completed CCNP.
HTH.

Hey man do the thing which gives you support every thing If you did CCNA than do CCNP specifically BCSN because its the father of CCNP if you got it you get every exam get the book of ACRC and start it form Cahpter three it use for all exam but use this book as refrence. and must use original course book
Remember you can get success with out practice test if you have two different auther books
