Hi to all,
I am getting ready to start prep for CID 3.0 exam.
Can someone who recently passed this test advise as to what materials were used to study and how
many questions were on the test. Also how long is the test. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Best of luck.
Danny

What's the matter, no braindump for this one?
I have no patience with folks who post test questions like you did in the NP forum. I hope other people take that into consideration as well.

Flame away.

What a mess!

MadChef,
I did not mean that post to be a braindump. You can find the questions I posted in any of the CIT study guides. No answers were given. It was meant as a knowledge tester. I would like to apologize
for this misunderstanding. In no way do I advocate
braindumps and have studied my rear off to prepare
for each exam I have taken and have only used books and Boson exams as my material. Tried to be
helpful but appeared to have been the opposite.
Best of luck.
Danny

Posting questions that test one's knowledge of the material by addressing the same technologies that are on the test is good. Posting questions from the test is bad. I liked the exam cram books because they had good questions and I knew that if I could answer those questions then I'd be fine in the test. Boson is good. Webmaster's other site www.cert21.com is probably good too.
There's a faction of us on this site who are downright militant when it comes to people posting braindumps, so don't take it personally if you did something unintentionally and I came down on you like a ton of bricks. I'm sorry if that happens, but I hope it means that you'll continue to participate in the discussions here.

Now, all that being said, the questions you brought up in this thread are valid, so I'd rather that no one delete it but I can edit down my response if we've cleared this up and you would like me to.
I also finally took this exam last week, so I'll post my thoughts on it when I get a little more time.

Mad -

i'm interested in your impressions of the exam. i've been advised by colleagues to finish out my CCDP before taking the IE written (due to some very useful overlap). so any insight is appreciated.

thanx - omni

i was advised the same too.
that was one of the reasons i did the cid.
but all the cid turned out to be was a poor and paltry revision of what the ccnp is.
just another tag - CCDP.
regards

I never got around to posing my thoughts on this and now I've forgotten a lot of details about the test, but here's what I can remember.
It was the longest Cisco test I've taken: 100 questions with a 2 hr time limit. There are NO scenario type questions like in the CCDA test. The questions are all very brief and you either know them or you don't, so you don't spend a lot of time on each question. As a result, it shouldn't take you more than an hour to finish. You have to know a fair amount about the product line when it comes to network managment. You have to know some security basics and a good bit about SNA and cisco's capabilities there. As well as I can remember the exam closely followed the cisco press book.
Is it technical like the CCNP exams? No. But if you know that stuff then I think you'll be a better engineer than one who doesn't know it. You'll just be more well rounded.
