RedHat is just way to expensive!! They may soon find themselves undercut.

I have a new General Linux I exam cert book and CD on sale at Ebay right now. Hadn't seen any posts here until recently, or I would have offered them to you all first. If you're interested, you'll get them a lot cheaper thru auction than in the store, and it is brand-new and sealed CDs. Good luck on your exams....I found it too daunting, so I am sticking with CIW.

We will be adding exam notes for LPI level 1 and 2 very soon. Actually, we already have LPI level 1 notes, just waiting for level 2, before I'll add the LPI section to the site.
Look for it in about one week.

The RHCE is expensive because it is not just a computer-based, multiple-choice exam. It does have an exam you must pass, but you also are required to take (and pass) a practicum. The only other company I am aware of that does this is for CCIE!
Also, while most everyone can pass the written portion, the failure rate on the practicum is very high. This alone will keep the RHCE credential somewhat rareified.
And don't forget, the CompTIA exams are going up in price. Last I saw was $200.

I look forward to the Linux/*BSD/UNIX section. I have been using some form on UNIX since 97 and thoroughly enjoy it. I am a relatively newcomer to this site but I would like to say great site and keep up the good work.
