I have passed ccna recently and now planning to embark on ccda self study before moving on to ccnp. I have recently purchased the sybex course book, has any one got any study tips that would be greatly appreciated.

See the Lawrence's post, he did an awesome job. Let me add this, I think for me preparing for the exam is often as important as choosing the right materials or books to study. What is this idiot talking about?? Well, I always look at questions before cracking the book. This helps me focus on areas of importance and skim those areas that are not tested on. So when I am reading, the first thing I do is go through the book once reading the bullets, you can do this in about 90 minutes. Highlight areas that you remember you saw test questions on. When people write testing software their goal is to write questions around the stated test objectives. Then after this you are ready to dig in, do your regular studying etc...
2nd, you are on the right track, use the net, ask questions, join the fourms. We all learn from others exposure to the subject matter. If you see ISDN or SNA or whatever keep popping up it might be an indication that this is tested.
Someone posted yesaterday that they thought there was only a 20% overlap of questions with the CCNA, well, I strongly disagree. I think at least 50% of the exam was CCNA test type objectives. Of course the questions are different but the material has the same coverage. I do however think he was right on target with everything else he said, it was great.

Another thing that I do ALWAYS no matter how easy I think a test is, is that I make flash cards of questions, I made about 120 for this exam, I made 320 when I took the CIT. You can look at these at any time, I keep a few in my pocket after I read them put in a few more. This is great for things like FCAPS, Design Document etc.. Both tested by the way!!! Have fun!
