well wrote the 290 on Thursday, and didn't pass, got a 590 on the exam...well got 6 sims on my exam and some were easy and some I had no clue on.

the funny thing is that I have been taking the course's I just finished my final exam on 298 and I still can't beleive that I failed. I know that these are my weak area's: disaster recovery, access to resources, users groups and computers. Those are the 3 area's that I scored the lowest on well the other 2 area's I got full bars on. At least I have the 2nd shot for the 4 core MCSE exams to do.

Any susgestions on how I can improve on those 3 area's that I am weak on???

I need all the help that I can get, so any offer for help will be apprechiated.

Sorry to hear that you failed, it happens to all of us and will make you stronger for next tme. I have seen some of your thread replies and you cannot stand these paper MCSE's RIGHT ON PAL.
This site needs more people like you..... all of this "which site is the best to pass" garbage makes me wanna fcucking puke.
Anyway, on the weaker areas (hopefully you have server 2003 installed at home) practice like mad and pick out the areas in the books that concentrate on those areas.
Have you seen any CBT nuggets ? I have seen for the 70-292 that I am taking next and they are great and they highlight all areas that need ssome concentration on. The MS Press books are also pretty good. Good luck.

Bummer deal. I remember when I failed one of my MS tests, got pretty discouraged. Anyways, this is what I try to use when studying for tests:

1) Microsoft Press Books. It covered everything pretty good for me.

2) Microsoft Press Self Tests (usually comes with the book) and Transcender Test (if you can afford it). Very valuable to determine your weak areas before going in for the test. Remember, don't memorize the answers from these tests thinking these questions will be on the test. I worked with somebody who thought that and they were disappointed to find out otherwise.

3) Definitely have a test lab setup so you can practice the exercises in the book (and on the self tests). What I found most practical (because I can't afford a lot of hardware, $ and spacewise) was to get something like VMWare or Virtual PC. Then you can build a mini network all on one PC. Plus you can "break" the server and not worry about having to reload it. So nice! I found this the most helpful.

4) If you can find someone that is going the same path with you testing wise, study together. When I was doing my NT certs, I had somebody I could bounce questions off of if I didn't understand the concepts, etc. Plus it also helped me keep on track with studying.
