How easy are the 2003 Upgrade Exams?

I’ve taken many certification exams (31) over the years and I typically prepare at least five weeks for each of them. I goal is not to pass, but to blow the exam out of the water. As we all know passing the exam is just the beginning. You really don’t know anything until you start putting it to use.

I’m being pushed by my employer to achieve several new certifications this year (at least six, maybe more). This isn’t all that unusual in itself, except that my current and projected future workloads have me working late almost every day. Since I’ve used Windows 2003 form its release, I decided to just start off trying the Transender practice exams.

I took all seven exams this weekend. I was shocked as to how easy they both were. The 70-292 was insultingly easy and the 70-296 was very easy as well. There is an old saying that states, the only advance stuff is stuff you don’t already know. So I guess, if the test happen to cover the things that I do on a daily basis, then it should be easy.

I personally manage several Active Directory domains. I’ve worked with both single and multiple site forests. I’ve set up and maintain Terminal Services servers. I’ve used System Policies and Group Policies to lockdown desktops. I’ve configured both MS and Cisco routers and VPNs. I manage an Email and Web hosting service using Windows 2000 and 2003 IIS and DNS servers. I’ve set up the commercial digital certificates for web sites that use SSL.

The only two areas that I don’t have a practical experience with is using in-house Certificate Authorities and Clustering. But I have done a great deal of reading on both topics.

So my question is. . .

Do the Transender practice exams test the objectives of the 70-292 and 70-296 certification exams to the same level (depth) as they are tested on the real exams?
