*Intense School Boot Camp?**
I just recieved my Cert Magazine. I was reading it and came across an article about Intense school Boot Camp. I wanted to know does this stuff work? Has anyone tried it? From what I read it is online course Intense training. I am going to school for Network Admin and studying for my Security + by using the Sybex, Prep Logic audio training and also Tcat's study Guide which is on order. I was just curious if anyone used Intense School Boot Camp? Thanks

I didn't know they had online stuff as well. I know some people who attended their instructor-led cisco training and were happy with it.

bootcamps are paper cert machines. Intense school is worst of the worst. Almost all of their instructors have no real world experience.
If they're doing an "online" bootcamp, they'll just give you the exam questions before you take the actual exam. That's all they do at the classroom training.
If you're gonna waste your money, you're better off buying braindumps.

Intense School MCSE
Curious, what about for people that have the experience but just need the quick and dirty to get the cert. on their resume?
Would you then recommend specifically Intense School?

that's the kind of people for whom bootcamp can be a successful training method... not sure I can recommend Intense since I have not taken their classes.

If they have the experience, why would they need the quick and dirty to get the cert? Why wouldn't they have exposure to the situations that the tests are supposed to present? Studying material that supplements your experience is one thing, it can give you a broader scope of understanding than you might be exposed to on the job, or you may learn workarounds on teh job that could be handled better than you learned, and that's the sort of stuff that you could benefit from. But if have a decent amount of exposure to network engineering and planning, I can't understand why going to a boot camp would be necessary.
That said, our company sent our lead hardware guy to an MCSE boot came and he came out an MCSE. NOt sure if he really knows enough to be an MCSE, that is, if he could have passed a certification test before he went to the boot camp, but our company isn't really firm on encouraging personal and professional growth, so ...
And I'm sure he learned useful stuff there; although after he returned, our network was shut down for most of a week when some genius with a laptop brought in a worm and our network security wasn't robust enough to prevent it, contain it, or catch and destroy it.

Call the schools you are interested in. Ask them if during the bootcamp they let you study exam questions before you take the actual exam. If they say no, ask them what they use to prepare students for the exam because 2 days of lecture and a lab for each exam isn't going to be enough to pass.
Go with whoever you feel isn't lying to you the most.
Bootcamps are only useful for people who have a lot of experience. But Yanqui was right. If you have that much experience, you don't need to spend $6,000 - $8,000 on a bootcamp. You just need a few exam prep books.

You see, that's the rub. MS tests are based on scenarios in the Microsoft World, whereas someone with experience gets it in the real world. That's why (in most cases) a good engineer is someone who has the experience in the real world, but has also studied the way of the Microsoft world.
And this can only be bettered by those have have also studied the way of confusion.
See me after if you wish to sign up for classes.
