Age huh? Does everyone think age really does matter? Should one be payed less or looked upon differently for being younger or older? The only reason I say this is b/c it happens and has happened.
I am 20 and I already posted my job title and pay.

I agree with Joe...
Age shouldn't be a factor but unfortuantly is...
So are living circumstances, ie, if you someone else has 2 kids, they "deserve" more money because they have more mouths to feed, meanwhile, if you live at home, "its ok, you live at home, you don't need it"...

The sad fact is age shouldn't matter, but it does. Years of experience should matter, but many times it doesn't. Your personality is a huge factor.
I read an article a few weeks ago that said married men with children get paid over 20% more than others doing the same job. It also said overweight single women got paid the least.
It's a crying shame how looks and perceptions can influence pay.

It just may be possible that overweight, single women have a lower self-esteem than men who are happily married with children, and it may be possible that causes problems with their job performance.

Or it could just be the employeer taking advantage of the people...which last time I checked is illegal, no matter if its with age, martial status, wieght, ethicity, and the list goes on.
It does happen but with the economy the way it is, at least here, just to have a job is worth putting up with it.

On the married with kids thing, need to make sure that age was factored in. Based on years in the company, people doing the same job get different bucks.
But there may be a bit of 'he is single and so does not need the money' going on but hard to see who would be doing that.
